NAMI San Diego
Free Education & Advocacy Meeting

Thursday, February 7, 2013 ▪ 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Topic: Love Yourself

In honor of National Eating Disorder Awareness Week, (February 24 - March 2, 2013)
we hope to raise awareness of eating disorders and shed light on alternative coping
skills. Our own self care tends to be on the back burner through the holidays; but as
we move into February and celebrate Valentine's Day we also celebrate the love we
have for our own self. We welcome an Eating Disorder Specialist from the Eating
Disorders Center for Treatment and Research at UCSD to share more information on
the topic of eating disorders.

Mark your calendar and if you need more information, contact NAMI San Diego at (800) 523-5933.

Due to continuing low attendance at our monthly 2nd Tues Escondido educational evening meetings we will not be scheduling meetings until further notice. Over the past two years despite good speakers on a variety of topics there does not appear to be the interest there once was among North Inland members. However, our support groups are very well attended and we are happy to continue these. There is an educational meeting on the 1st Thurs of each month in San Diego and a NAMI North Coastal meeting in Carlsbad on the 3rd Thurs of each month. We do plan to host our annual family picnic in June and other special events through the year. Thank you to those faithful members who helped each month with our evening meeting, without you we would not have been able to provide this service. Should there be a renewed interest we will reintroduce the speaker night.
